Vancouver49th Parallel Café & Lucky's Doughnuts - Thurlow49th Parallel Café & Lucky’s Doughnuts – Thurlow is the downtown Vancouver outpost of a coffee company founded in 2004 by brothers Vince and Michael Piccolo. The roaster emphasizes direct relationships with farmers and a sourcing approach built around coffees that match its standards for craft and consistency. At the Thurlow location, that coffee program is paired with Lucky’s Doughnuts, made fresh throughout the day, and a fuller breakfast-and-lunch menu. The result is a polished café format that reflects 49th Parallel’s broader identity as a Vancouver-born roaster with a careful, ingredient-driven style.[3][5][6][1]
Brookline4A Coffee4A Coffee is a Brookline roaster that began in 2012 after first being founded in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and later expanded to Massachusetts under Alan and Erke Draper. It is notable for sourcing beans from four continents, a detail reflected in its name, and for roasting in small batches daily to keep coffee fresh. The roaster’s approach combines an unusually direct bean-to-cup model with a retail focus on precise, high-quality drinks rather than a conventional café setup.[2][3]
